Thanks for writing this, Dana. I know. I am also deeply depressed by the news I see and sincerely wish I could do more. The Trump administration seems hell-bent on giving polluters everything they want from gutting the EPA to killing wind projects and now weakening vehicle emissions standards. As Norway ensures that over 90% of its new vehicle purchases are EVs, we remain stuck in the 20th century with only about 10% of new cars being EV. The emotional connection and ties to identity that so many Americans have with their overly large SUVs and trucks is just so silly. I am especially depressed about all the commentary on gas prices. Yes, of course, the ill advised and counterproductive war in Iran has raised fuel prices considerably, but the implication behind all the complaints about gas prices, and even from progressives who ought to know better, is that we ought to have lower prices. Wrong! Lower prices encourage more consumption. I think we should have $8/gallon gasoline. That would force us to walk more, bike more, take public transit, carpool, and buy more EVs.

Thanks for the comment, Stephen. Yeah I'm trying to hang in there, but it's rough and we have another two more years of this insanity 😔
